The risk of men getting prostate cancer in their lifetime is 1:1.
After age 50 all men should have a digital rectal exam during their physical.  Also a blood test that checks for prostate inflammation called  Prostate Specific Antigen or PSA for short.  Signs that a man should be concerned about the health of his prostate is change in urine stream quality, night time urination- especially more than once a night, a weak stream, frequency, and urgency of urination and even pain with urination or bowel movement.   Don't wait when these symptoms occur.  Get it checked out.  Do not think of talking to your health care provider about these issues as embarrassing.
